Eyeko Mascara

Sorry guys-

I bought this cool-looking Eyeko mascara in a squeezy tube but I returned it before I reviewed. YUCK! On sale for $4.99, I thought I would give it a try (my mascara is 3 months old now, but I love it, and it's expensive). I think I'm gonna try to pick up the Fairydrops mascara in China.

So this Eyeko mascara came in a silver, squishy, squeezy (I just made the typo squeexy and I thought I would share it with you) tube. It's got a cute little wand and promises to stimulate lash growth or something with Vitamin E Oil. I don't like it because it's clumpy (surprisingly so for a rather liquidy formula) and when I wash my face or do sports instead of melting off like I would expect, it comes off on my cheeks in little pieces. It flaked on me! AHAHAHAHAHA I'M FUNNY.

I like it cos it makes my lashes really shiny.

Its best use is the lower lashes.

It's normally $10. Try it out if you like. I found it at Urban Outfitters. I left it at Urban Outfitters.

PS When I returned it I didn't have a receipt but I got store cred. I used it on my graduation dress. xD

DIY Tinted Moisturizer

Trust me girls- I'm not claiming this as my own genius. It annoys me when people claim that combining foundation and moisturizer to make a tint or concealer or eyeshadow base (?!) was their own idea and they give you a precise recipe. I saw a girl on Youtube combine some fruity Victoria's Secret Lotion with some overly orange concealer than smear it on her eyes before applying eyeshadow! Yuck! I'm simply showing you that I don't buy Laura Mercier or Smashbox tinted moisturizer, I just make it myself.

I pump a bit of day moisturizer (low SPF), combine it with a tiny, tiny, tiny dot of SPF 95 sunscreen (it's good for the skin to have a thin veil of protection from the sun, but a whole layer of the stuff breaks me out!), and a good squeeze of Revlon concealer in a little jar.

I mix the stuff with a q-tip, and use that (or a concealer brush) to dab it all over my face. I use my fingers to spread it out and rub it in. Make sure you bring it down to your neck.

It's quite sheer, so with whatever thin formula is left, I intensify it with more concealer and use that on my nose and forehead.

I do NOT leave the excess product in the little jar. I rinse it well. Please don't leave it for tomorrow. That's not sanitary. I only use the jar for mixing, not storing. As you get used to the recipe, you'll get the pumping and squeezing down to a science (you have a sick mind), and there will be less waste.

This dries rater matte, but I apply a layer of translucent powder by Almay, especially on hot days.

PS You can use a foundation if you like instead of concealer. Honestly, this is not a strict recipe. Experiment, and message me or leave a comment!

Smooth, soft...oily lips.

Hello girls and boys,

For this is really a very unisex post. I was wandering around Lush the other day, and I noticed a little basket full of cute little metal tins that said $2! They were filled with miraculous stuff dubbed "Ultrabalm". I opened the tester, and fell in love with the goopy stuff. It was the lip conditioner I had been searching for.

Product Profile:

Company: Lush
Name: Ultrabalm
Scent: Oily? Waxy? Hard to describe. Not great, but not noticeable.
Color: Traslucent yellow-ish stuff. Yucky, right?
Use: "All Purpose Balm for All Your Bits" I use this on my lips and cuticles. It's quite oily so I keep it to just that. If you can tolerate oil on your skin and have super dry patches this may be your saving salve. You can probably also use this on dry elbows and knees.
Pros: Cute packaging, makes my lips super duper soft and heals my cuticles overnight! And if you're into all-natural ingredients and vegan products and whatnot, this fits the bill.
Cons: Meltable, so not super portable, not very convenient packaging. Very oily and soft.
Pics:
Only 8g.

Good god, that's gloppy!

Only 3, all legible ingredients. And it's vegan!
A swatch of the stuff. Can you spot it?

Would I repurchase?

I'd like to go get a back-up tomorrow! I think this is an introductory (limited time offer?) travel size. Buuuuuuut, I won't, because I don't travel with it (I tried, you can see it melted to the side), and when you bring in the little empty container, you get a $2 discount off the full size! The full size is $12.95 for 1.4oz.

And for those of you who don't live near a Lush, but order from their site, the travel size is also available online.

I'm back!

Hey people-

I've been away for a while and now I'm gonna backtrack a bit. A while ago I went to Ulta for the first time ever! I love it soooooo much. But it's really far away from me. :(

Here you go!

So I got 2 Orly nail lacquers, one mini (wish it was full size, but I only had so much money on me), and a free full size. The mini was $3.50 in the color Rage, which is an absolutely gorgeous rose gold color. I also think it works year round. Love! The second one was free with a coupon from a magazine. They usually retail for $7 btw. It's called Shine and I still haven't tried it on, but I think it'll be my next nail color. Right now I'm wearing a shade from the UD Apocalyptic Nail Kit which I'll haul really soon.

NYX lip stuff was BOGO50% off so I got a round lipstick in Jupiter (normally $3.50) and a soft matte lip cream in Milan ($6). Jupiter is a really light, very frosty pink. Milan is a deep muted rosey berry, as best as I can describe it. I like the fact that the tube is the color of the product. So when I first got these my lips were pretty dry and neither product looked very good. Jupiter is a frosty pink, which is not cute on cracked lips. Milan is a bit drying and looks much better on smooth lips. Now that there is a little humidity and moisture injected into the air and I've found my HG lip conditioner (I'll talk about that in a mo'), I've been wearing Milan, but to date still haven't worn Jupiter out. I'll wear it Monday (probably). The lipstick is not drying, but the cream is a bit. If you don't know what the soft matte lip creams are, they're basically matte, liquid lipsticks with a doe foot applicator. I think I want more NYX lipsticks, but in more wearable formulations and colors. I'm excited that they've started to bring more and more NYX to Urban Outfitters. As a splurge I might pick up this gigantic bronzer that they have for face and body. It's $16 though, and I don't really have a big enough kabuki. :/ We'll see.

So just 4 products. I also used a $3.50 off $10 coupon so the whole purchase was under ten.

Here's a pic, sorry, you can request swatches if you like.

OHMYGOSH.

These have probably been the most stressful couple of weeks of my life. I'll go back to posting as soon as my house-guest leaves (next Thursday). Sorry. I went to Ulta and Sephora. I'll tell you about it soooooooon.

Hello!

Hello there! Sorry I haven't especially been keeping up with my promises quite as well as I had hoped. I have several things to tell all of you!

a) I would like to update you on my blush! I wore it today to school and it was super pretty. I applied it on a clean, then moisturized, then powdered face with my fingers. I found it blended and melted quite easily. It has definitely faded but there is still a pretty glow to my cheeks! New fave!

b) Let's talk about showers. I am a very irregular shower-er. Sometimes I take them in the morning, sometime as soon as I get home from school, or usually after dinner (I'm a procrastinator). Sometimes I fail to wash my hair every single day, and up until now, I haven't had a dry shampoo or hair powder to save me from a heavy-haired day. Yup, until now! Today at Safeway, I realized that they may have the Suave Pro Dry Shampoo. And they did! My hair was a bit oily when I bought it so when I tried it as soon as I got home. Ahh, it smells sooo amazing! It smells like French tutti-frutti chewing gum mixed with flowers and love and peace and happiness. It totally absorbed my oil! I'm scared that I'm gonna over-use it like my Evian spray though. hehe. A+ so far though!! It was $2.69 as the introductory price.

c) Tomorrow I'm going somewhere right next to Ulta! I'm really excited because I've never been there! I want some more NYX Products...it's hard to get them anywhere else. I really want some Blotting Papers ($3.59) and a Soft Matte Lip Cream ($5.99) ...I really want Antwerp (Soft, dull pink)! Most NYX is BOGO50% off and I have the $3.50 off $10 coupon sooo I think if in stock I'll get this:

Lip Cream = $5.99
Blotting Papers= $3.59 (50% off = $1.79)

Then to put me over $10 I'll probably grab a Round Lipstick ($3.99, I'll let the moment choose the color), but who knows? I may see something better from another brand. I've never tried Ulta brand so I may give that a go.

I'm excited!

d) I ordered the Apocalyptic Nail Kit from Urban Decay on Hautelook yesterday. Sorry, I was too late to grab a blush, and I just didn't really want any single shadows...

e) I just wanted to let you know I'm completely obsessed with my Arnica Essentiel Hand Cream I bought in France. My hands just soak it up! Literally. See ya laterrrr!
